Leesa Lin

Co-Director of the Vaccine Confidence Project, Assistant Professor at London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM)

Dr. Leesa Lin is the Co-Director of the Vaccine Confidence Project and the Head of Behavioural and Digital Innovations division. As an Assistant Professor at London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), she also serves as Senior Research Director at the Laboratory of Data Discovery for Health, affiliated with the University of Hong Kong. Dr. Lin directs a multidisciplinary, multinational team proficient in artificial intelligence, statistical modeling, big data analytics, and social science methodologies. Dr. Lin's research rigorously assesses public health system readiness and crisis communication in major health emergencies, confronting challenges such as vaccine hesitancy, the proliferation of misinformation, and health disparities among vulnerable demographics. Utilizing both traditional research methodologies and AI-enhanced solutions, her work informs evidence-based interventions and training. She is an active member of various international consortia focused on societal preparedness, including the WHO's R&D Blueprint Social Science Research Working Group

Dr. Lin earned her PhD in Implementation Science and Social Epidemiology from the LSHTM, garnered a ScM in Global Health from the Harvard School of Public Health, and attained her BA in Psychology and Asian Studies from the University of British Columbia.
